Triennale Milano
March 14 - April 13, 2025
This exhibition is dedicated to John Giorno’s extensive archive. Having journeyed through sixty years of cultural history, from the Beat Generation to AIDS activism, via Warhol's Factory and Experiments in Art and Technology, Giorno had many collaborations and friendships with some of the most significant figures in art, literature, and music of the 20th century—Robert Rauschenberg, William S. Burroughs, Allan Kaprow, Jasper Johns, John Cage, Keith Haring, Allen Ginsberg, Patti Smith, just to name a few.
This exhibition features approximately 100 documents, most of which date from 1967 to 1974, focusing on the earlier part of Giorno’s life. They include unpublished manuscripts, event posters and flyers, private correspondence, contracts, archival video footage, and materials related to Dial-A-Poem and to the AIDS Treatment Project.

Curated by Nicola Ricciardi with Eleonora Molignani.
