In 1971, John Giorno visited India and Nepal and met his teacher, His Holiness Dudjom Rinpoche, which led to a life-long practice of Nyingma Buddhism.
Since 1982, Giorno has hosted monks from the Padmasambhava Buddhist Center, in upstate New York, for a monthly meditation retreat, making it possible for people in New York City to access their teachings. These retreats take place the second Saturday of every month.
