Oto Gillen takes photographs in, and of, New York City. Framed by his telephoto lens, the city’s contradictions congeal in the banal, industrially-produced objects that fill its streets.
Oto asks an artist, a musician, and a poet to help construct a live environment that reflects the radical juxtapositions inherent to life in the city. Over the course of the evening, he projects hundreds of new photographs alongside an improvised score for electric guitar and bass by Keegan Monaghan and Eugene Wasserman, poems by Andrew Weatherhead, and mulled wine.
Organized by Eli Coplan.
