Since their first encounter seeing each other play at a festival over a decade ago, the musicians Lucrecia Dalt and Aaron Dilloway have become close friends.

They’ve recorded an album together, Lucy & Aaron (Hanson Records, 2021), toured together, and shared intense discussions about art, music, and performance. They’ve made field recordings in the Colombian rainforest. They’ve given each other presents for Christmas.
On November 1, Lucrecia is playing Lincoln Center as part of the Unsound New York Festival, on the occasion of her new record, A Danger to Ourselves (RVNG Intl).

When asked to host an evening at GPS that would be for or with another musician, she suggested inviting Aaron.

This is the first time Lucrecia and Aaron have performed live together.

Thank you to Andy Battaglia, Mat Schulz, Gosia Plysa, and Matt Werth. This is co-presented with Unsound New York and made possible with the friendly support of the Ernst von Siemens Music Foundation.

Lucrecia Dalt (b. 1980, Pereira, Colombia) has carved out a distinctive space in contemporary music. Her trajectory from civil engineer to sound artist began while working at a geotechnical company in Medellín, where she discovered computer-based music production—a revelation that redirected her life and creative focus. With RVNG Intl., Dalt released Anticlines (2018), No era sólida (2020), and ¡Ay! (2022)—each expanding her sonic and conceptual palette. Her new album, A Danger to Ourselves, turns inward, drawing from notes written during tour and early relationship days. With Alex Lázaro and collaborators including David Sylvian, Juana Molina, and Camille Mandoki, Dalt crafts vivid, personal soundscapes—pushing beyond lo-fi approaches toward greater clarity and emotional resonance.
Aaron Dilloway (b. 1976, Michigan) is a celebrated improviser and composer who works with 1/4" tape loops in 8-track cartridges as well as other discarded electronic equipment. In his performance-based practice, he manipulates magnetic tape in real-time by feeding the loops sounds from his body, everyday objects, electronic sources, prepared tapes, as well as the occasional actual instrument.
Unsound is co-organized and co-presented by Fundacja Tone – Muzyka i Nowe Formy Sztuki and the Polish Cultural Institute New York. This project is co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Culture Promotion Fund in partnership with the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. The main partner of Unsound Web KRK – NYC is the Polish National Foundation.
Due to the age and character of the building, the space is not optimized for ADA accessibility and is located up a single flight of 20 stairs with handrails. If you have questions about access, please contact us in advance of the event, and we will make every effort to accommodate you.
